Sara is a professional actor based in New York City. Originally from Akron, Ohio, she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Kent State University before moving on to study classical rotating repertory theatre with Wayne State University's Hilberry Theatre, where she earned her MFA in Acting. While in Detroit, Sara co-produced the Michigan premiere of Rajiv Joseph's "Gruesome Playground Injuries" while also performing the classics at the Hilberry and spending a summer in Russia studying at the Moscow Art Theatre School.
Most recently, Sara has been appearing in commercials and performing in new media productions with such companies as The Show Must Go Online, Clutch Productions, Southwest Shakespeare Company, and more. Before the pandemic started, you could find her on stage with Ensemble Studio Theatre, Gateway Playhouse, Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre, and Seven Stages Shakespeare Company. She was was previously a company member with Random Access Theatre Company before becoming a resident actor and education artist for two seasons with the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia. While in Virginia, she directed for the youth summer program at ASC, and facilitated workshops on Rhetoric, Original Staging Conditions, Chekov and ensemble building, and more.
Currently, Sara is a proud ensemble member of
Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre and Actors Equity, and enjoys spending time playing music with her husband, exploring the many corners of Brooklyn with their pandemic rescue pittie, Winnie, and dreaming of the day when she can safely host nerdy board game nights again.
